Outdoor Living
Outdoor space in North Texas has to handle August heat, spring storms and the occasional hard freeze. Built well, it becomes the part of the house the family uses most.
Venado builds covered patios and outdoor living areas as real construction — footings, framing, roof structure, drainage and finishes — attached to the house properly.

What we build outdoors
- Covered patios and porch structures tied into the existing roofline
- Outdoor kitchens with grills, counters, storage and utility runs
- Masonry fireplaces and fire features
- Screened and enclosed porches
- Patios, decking, hardscape and steps
- Ceiling finishes, fans, lighting, electrical and gas rough-in
The details that decide whether it lasts
Water is the enemy. Flashing where the new roof meets the old, slope away from the foundation, and drainage that actually leaves the yard matter more than the finish selections.
Shade orientation matters too. A patio that faces the wrong direction with no protection goes unused nine months a year. That gets discussed before framing, not after.
Common questions
- Do you build pools?
- No. Venado focuses on home remodeling, additions and outdoor living construction. We do not build pools.
- Can outdoor living be combined with an interior project?
- Often it should be. If you are already opening the back of the house, coordinating the interior and exterior work usually saves both money and disruption.
